Why I Became A Chiropractor in Mint Hill NC
While earning my BS degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee I remember having a unique conversation with my counselor and biology professor. “ why don’t you just go on to medical school?” He asked.
“Because I don’t think drugs and surgery are the answer to all of our health problems“ I replied.
According to the Center for Studies in health policy, the sciences taken by doctors of chiropractic in Mint Hill and medical doctors are very similar. The first two years of chiropractic graduate school consist of courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pathology, biochemistry, and public health. The leader years or more specialized including search courses as chiropractic philosophy and practice, chiropractic diagnoses, and chiropractic spinal adjusting methods.
Training of a Mint Hill NC Chiropractor
Additionally, there is deeper training in anatomy, physiology, rehabilitation, nutrition, diagnosis, x-ray, and a variety of therapeutic techniques that aren’t taught in other healthcare fields. I have unique personal experiences in graduate school that are worth sharing. It truly opened my eyes and compared the anatomy education of chiropractors compared to medical doctors and physical therapists.
My roommate, whom I will refer to as Jo, was having difficulty with our anatomy classes. They were very rigorous and demanding at our school, the National College of Chiropractic (currently known as the National University of Health Sciences, located in Lombard, Illinois).
We had three anatomy lab classes per week, each three hours long, wearing scrubs and smelling (actually gagging from) The surrounding formaldehyde from the human cadavers we were leaning over and dissecting. it was one of the most difficult experiences of my life.
